Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior PLC & SCADA Engineer to join our team and support utility-scale renewable energy and power generation projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PLC programming, industrial communication protocols, and SCADA systems, with a strong understanding of power systems and energy storage technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC programs (preferably Schneider Electric platforms) for utility-scale energy projects.
- Configure and maintain SCADA systems using Ignition platform, including HMI development.
- Integrate and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and DNP3.
- Support BESS control systems, inverter configurations, and energy storage technologies.
- Ensure compliance with grid interconnection requirements, utility standards, and cybersecurity best practices (NERC CIP awareness preferred).
- Lead FAT/SAT testing procedures, commissioning protocols, and oversee completion of PPA, LGIA, and OEM testing.
- Provide technical support during commissioning and resolve complex system issues.
- Prepare detailed documentation and communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 11+ years of experience in PLC programming, preferably Schneider Electric platforms.
- Expert knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, and other industrial communication protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA platform and HMI development.
- Strong understanding of power systems and utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Proven experience in energy storage technologies, including BESS and inverter systems.
- Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and utility standards.
- Experience with FAT/SAT testing and commissioning protocols.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication abilities and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- NERC CIP cybersecurity awareness preferred.
