Units 5 and 6 at the Zaporizhzhia plant -currently the facility’s only operational reactors -were disconnected from the country’s power grid early in the morning of August 25.
Fires at a thermal power plant near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant damaged the nuclear plant’s sole working 750-KV external transmission line connecting it to Ukraine’s grid (three other transmission lines were damaged during earlier shelling of the plant) disconnecting the plant from Ukraine’s power grid for the first time, and operator Energoatom said today that the facility is still not supplying electricity to the country.
