GTTSI IS ON THE ROAD AND WITH THE TEAM

We had a great visit with the team at Nebraska Public Power District. The Cooper Nuclear Station stands out as a technical and environmental cornerstone of Nebraska’s energy infrastructure. The plant, commissioned on July 1, 1974, operates a single boiling-water reactor (BWR-4, Mark I design) with a gross electrical output around 800 megawatts.

Over its more than five decades of operation, Cooper has delivered a remarkable volume of carbon-free electricity on the order of hundreds of millions of megawatt-hours, contributing significantly to Nebraska’s clean energy mix.

Tom Kent, NPPD’s CEO since 2020, recently wrote how NPPD manages to keep their rate increases modest for their customers and that last year, their “wholesale rates ranked in the lowest 12.5% when benchmarked against more than 800 utilities nationally, and … retail rates were in the lowest 6.5% of more than 2,600 utility providers benchmarked by the Energy Information Administration.”

GTTSi is proud to partner with exceptional companies like Nebraska Public Power District.
