Please accept our retraction and our apology on the statement in the November newsletter that said the following; “since no Westinghouse plants have started up in the U.S. since Comanche Peak”.
This was a mistake …………. and we apologize for the error.
Watts Bar Unit 1 & 2 are both Westinghouse plants and they are the two newest nuclear units in the nation.
Unit 1 began operation in 1996 and Unit 2 was the first new commercial nuclear reactor brought online in the United States in the 21st century.
Comanche Peak Unit 1 came online in 1990 and Unit 2 in 1993.
