Today, December 7th, we need to remember … that INFAMOUS DAY, as President Roosevelt declared it. That early Sunday morning when 2,403 Americans were killed and another 1,178 wounded. That day the United States lost 18 ships, including 5 battleships.
Afterwards, the NATION was wholeheartedly committed to winning World War II – millions of people gave their lives in fighting fascism and imperialism – this day …. forever changed the course of human history.
Although, this day is not a federal holiday – our American Flag will fly at half-mast – to honor and remind us of those who died and were wounded for FREEDOM’s sake. FREEDOM is not FREE and we pass from one generation to the other – both the burden and the honor of keeping it!
